Part-time Police Officers
The City of Miramichi is seeking applications for part-time police officers with the Miramichi Police Force. Candidates must meet the minimum standards pursuant to the New Brunswick Police Act, Regulation 91-498.
The part-time officer performs the roles, responsibilities and requirements associated with general police work in the areas of community-based policing, problem solving and crime prevention; traffic enforcement and accident investigation; and court related services and security. He/she also conducts preliminary investigations related to district complaints, break and enters, damage to property as well as the enforcement of provisions under the Criminal Code of Canada, Provincial Statutes, jurisdictional by-laws and other statutes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a recognized Police Training Institute.
The incumbent must meet departmental medical and physical standards, obtain security clearance, and quality for appointment as a Police Officer in accordance with the New Brunswick Police Act, Regulation 91-498.
Bilingualism is considered an asset.
