The Community Service Award for Volunteers is guided by Policy No. GEN002, established on November 25, 2004. This policy reflects the City of Miramichi’s commitment to recognizing and honoring the invaluable contributions of its citizens. It acknowledges the importance of volunteerism in delivering essential services and celebrates individuals whose dedication, leadership, and inspiration have made a profound impact on the community. Under this policy, the award ensures that outstanding volunteers receive the recognition they deserve, fostering a culture of appreciation and service across Miramichi.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Nominees must have a minimum of 15 years of dedicated voluntary service in one or more of the following categories:

• Education and Learning

• Business and Commercial

• Politics

• Community Service for the Sick, Elderly, Disabled, or Handicapped

• Religion

• Recreation and Athletics

• Heritage and Culture

• Communication and Media

• Community Development

Candidates should also have made a notable impact in at least one additional category. Their efforts must have clearly benefited the community as a whole.
