Step back in time and experience the human stories behind one of the most devastating events in our region’s history.
Character Matters Miramichi presents Beneath the Smoke, a powerful series of theatrical performances commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Great Miramichi Fire of 1825. This immersive experience includes the debut of the full production "Beneath the Smoke: The Great Miramichi Fire", which brings to life personal tales of survival, loss, and resilience in the wake of unimaginable disaster.

A one-man storytelling show recounting an individual's experience during the fire
An original Acadian performance rooted in cultural traditions
A musical concert featuring acclaimed New Brunswick artists
