City of Miramichi celebrates Canada Day

Residents of the City of Miramichi will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate Canada Day on Monday, July 1st with various activities on both sides of the river.
The Downtown Newcastle Business District and Historic Chatham Business District will be hosting events all day for all ages.
People can enjoy kids activities on Water Street and at Ritchie Wharf, musical entertainment, a magic show, party in Queen Elizabeth Park, the Canada Day Parade in Newcastle and fireworks in Chatham.

The 12th Annual Fishermen Powwow is being held on Waterford Green and begins with the Sunrise Ceremony at 6:30 a.m. , the Grand Entry at 10 a.m. and continues with drumming and dancing, and other performances until the Grand Exit at 3:30 p.m.
Mayor Adam Lordon and City Councillors will take part in the flag raising and singing of the national anthem in Queen Elizabeth Park at 12 p.m. and will then serve cake.

City Hall and administrative offices at Miratech will be closed on Monday, July 1st and will reopen on Tuesday, July 2nd.
